COLLECTIVE SOUL Rips Off METALLICA? You Be The Judge
November 13, 2004Georgia rockers COLLECTIVE SOUL appear to have "borrowed" a riff from METALLICA's "King Nothing" for their latest single, "Counting the Days".
"Counting the Days" is the first single off COLLECTIVE SOUL's sixth studio album, "Youth", due on November 16, 2004 through the group's own newly formed label El Music Group. The track has reportedly been a Top 10 single at radio and is featured in nationally televised NASCAR and NFL events.
Although the rest of the song sounds nothing like METALLICA, the main riff in "Counting the Days" is almost an identical copy of the opening/main riff in METALLICA's "King Nothing". Listen to both tracks and judge for yourself:
